DR. MICHAEL GODIN
Dr. Michael Godin is a facial plastic surgeon practicing in Richmond, Virginia, and Southern California. He is the author of Fighting Gravity, a soon-to-be-released romantic comedy set in the world of plastic surgery. He survived surgical training during the time of The Big Prick, and learned to surf, write, and take good care of his patients. He enjoys living on both coasts with his wonderful wife, adult sons, and two dogs. One is very good, the other not so much, but he loves her anyway.

THE BIG PRICK
In the face of a new and terrifying pandemic, Dr. Nick Jordan and his young colleagues must find the strength to save their patients and themselves.
It's June 1986, and Nick Jordan is headed west to sunshine-blessed San Diego to start a one-year medical internship. The newly discovered Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is wreaking havoc among his surgical patients, and an accidental stick from a knife or a needle could mean infection and an agonizing death. Overwhelmed by the rigors of medical training in this stressful and dangerous time, Nick must develop the skills to persevere or quit.
Nick faces his patient's impending mortality with both trepidation and grace, working for the first time with a pretty intern who just might be the love of his life. Their journey is one of romance, humor, and courage. Together they struggle to survive and find the emotional strength to heal their patients in the face of misanthropic supervisors and overwhelming odds.
Will Nick survive and find the life balance he yearns for despite all the trials, tribulations, and doubts that accompany the momentous task of becoming a good doctor?
